June Sarpong wants to work with Anna
8 Jul, 08

Hey everyone, my name is Tatiana and I just joined the staff of I Heart Anna. I’m looking forward to working on the site and bringing you the latest on the lovely lady. :) Without further ado, the latest –

June Sarpong has said that she is hoping to work on a movie with Anna Friel in 2009.

The former T4 presenter revealed that a TV sitcom she devised is currently being turned into a film.

“Daisy Donovan is doing re-writes for us and we’re talking to Anna Friel so fingers crossed it should all come together for next year,” Sarpong told Metro. “The idea was my own. I used to be a plugger for a record company before I did TV.

She added: “It’s like a Devil Wears Prada but in the music industry.”

the writers’ strike is over!
8 Feb, 08

A deal has been struck between the major media companies and the Writers Guild of America to end the writers’ strike, former Walt Disney chief executive Michael Eisner revealed on CNBC.

“It’s over,” Eisner said. “They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It’s going on Saturday to the writers in general.”

Eisner, speaking live on CNBC’s “Fast Money,” seemed to hesitate initially about whether it was possible that the writers could still reject the agreement, but finally suggested the deal’s acceptance was inevitable.

“A deal has been made, and they’ll be back to work very soon,” Eisner said, adding, “I know a deal’s been made. I know it’s over.”

Eisner did not elaborate on terms of the agreement. He said he expects most of the media companies affected by the strike to have “small” write-downs as a result of the deal. Eisner said the deal was struck last Friday.
As a result of studio cutbacks, however, many of the writers who went on strike are unlikely to return to the same big-money contracts they’d had as individuals with the studios, Eisner said.

Friel ‘to star’ in Ferrell film
4 Feb, 08

Former Brookside TV star Anna Friel will star opposite Will Ferrell in adventure fantasy Land of the Lost, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Friel, 31, nominated for a best comedy actress Golden Globe for US show Pushing Daisies, will play Ferrell’s love interest in the Universal film.

The film is an adaptation of the 1970s US TV show of the same name.

In the movie, comedian Ferrell will play a palaeontologist who is transported back to prehistoric times.

The screenplay for Land of the Lost was completed before the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike.

In September, it was announced that Ferrell would be starring in the film and that Brad Silberling would direct.

Silberling’s previous films include Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, starring Jim Carrey.

Last month, Friel, who now lives in LA, told the BBC she stayed sane by surrounding herself with British actors.
